1. Who we are

Speak Now Language Academy (the "Academy", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Speak Now LLC, a limited liability company based in Broward County, Florida, United States.

We are an online academy. We do not have a physical campus open to the public. All classes are taught live online.

2. Definitions

  • "Program" means a complete course of study we sell, such as Breakthrough - English A1.
  • "Student", "you" means the person who registers for or buys a Program.
  • "Platform" means our online school, where you find your classes, materials and progress.
  • "Live Class" means a scheduled class taught by an instructor over Zoom.
  • "Materials" means everything we give you to learn with: videos, documents, slides, recordings, exercises and class content.

3. Who can register

Our programs are for teenagers and adults.

If you are under 18 years old, you may only register with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. That parent or guardian accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for payment.

You must give us true and complete information when you register, and keep it up to date. Your account is personal. Do not share your login with anyone else.

4. What the Program includes

Breakthrough - English A1 is our A1 level program, based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and built on the Cambridge Ventures curriculum.

The Program runs for 20 weeks and includes:
  • 4 hours of live online class per week - two classes of two hours each, taught over Zoom (80 live hours in total).
  • Access to the Platform for practice, materials and progress tracking.
  • Access to Cambridge One, where you complete your independent practice.
  • Your Cambridge Ventures materials, included at no extra cost. You never buy the book separately.
Class days and times are given to you before your group starts. We may need to change a specific class time; if we do, we will tell you in advance and the class will be rescheduled or recorded.

5. Your free first week

You can register for free and attend your first week of classes (two classes) at no cost and with no payment method on file.

You are under no obligation during that week. If you decide to continue after it, you then choose how you want to pay and your place is confirmed. If you decide not to continue, you simply do not pay, and nothing is charged to you.

6. Prices and how you pay

The full price of Breakthrough - English A1 is US$1,500. You choose one of two ways to pay:
  • Pay in full: US$1,350 - a discount off the full price, charged once.
  • Payment plan: 5 monthly payments of US$300, charged automatically each month.
Both options give you exactly the same Program. Prices are in US dollars and include your Cambridge materials and Platform access. There are no separate book fees or platform fees.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. By choosing the payment plan, you authorize us to charge your card automatically on the same day each month until the five payments are complete.

We may change our prices at any time, but a price change never affects a Program you have already started paying for.

7. The payment plan is a commitment

The payment plan is not a monthly subscription that you can switch off. It is a way to spread the single, fixed price of the Program over five months. When you choose it, you are agreeing to pay the full US$1,500.

If a payment fails - for example because a card expired - we will contact you and try again. If a payment stays unpaid, we may pause your access to classes and to the Platform until it is settled.

If something serious happens in your life - illness, job loss, an emergency - please write to us at info@speaknowusa.com. We review these situations one by one and in good faith. We would rather talk to you than lose you.

8. Cancellation and refunds

  • During your free first week: nothing has been charged, so there is nothing to refund. You can simply stop.
  • After you have started paying: amounts already paid are not automatically refunded, because your place in the group and your Cambridge license have already been reserved for you.
  • If you stop attending: you keep access to everything you have already paid for. Your access is not cut off the moment you stop coming to class.
  • To cancel, write to us at info@speaknowusa.com. Cancellations are handled by us directly, not through an automatic button.
  • If we cancel a Program and cannot offer you an equivalent group, we refund the part of the Program you paid for and did not receive.

9. Live classes are recorded

Our live classes on Zoom are recorded, so that students who miss a class can watch it later and so that everyone can review.

By joining a live class, you agree to be recorded - your image, your voice and what you write in the chat may appear in the recording.

We use these recordings for teaching only: we share them with the students of that same group. We will not publish a class recording where you appear on our website, social media or advertising without asking you first.

If you prefer not to appear, you may keep your camera off and use the chat.

10. Cambridge One and other outside services

Part of your study happens on Cambridge One, which belongs to Cambridge University Press & Assessment - not to us. We give you the access code, but that platform has its own terms and its own privacy rules, and we do not control it.

The same applies to Zoom, which we use for live classes. If one of these outside services is down or changes how it works, we will do everything we reasonably can to keep your classes running, but we are not responsible for their failures.

We name Cambridge as our curriculum provider. We are not owned by, or a branch of, Cambridge.

11. The materials are ours, and they are for you only

All Materials belong to Speak Now LLC or to the third parties who licensed them to us. When you join a Program, you get a personal, non-transferable license to use them while you are our student. You do not become their owner.

You may not: copy, record, download, republish, sell, share or resell our Materials or our class recordings; share your account; or use our Materials to teach or to run your own course.

Our name, our logo and our brand are ours. Please do not use them without our written permission.

12. How we expect everyone to behave

Our classes and our student groups are a place to learn. We ask you to treat your classmates and your instructor with respect.

We may suspend or end your access, without a refund, if you: share or resell our Materials or your account; behave abusively, harass another student or the instructor; disrupt classes repeatedly; or give us false information.

13. Certificates

If you complete the Program and pass the final assessment, you receive a Speak Now Language Academy certificate stating the CEFR level you reached.

Our certificate is issued by Speak Now Language Academy. It is not a Cambridge examination certificate, and it is not a government qualification.

14. What we promise, and what we cannot promise

We promise to teach you well: qualified bilingual instructors, real class hours, serious materials and honest feedback.

We cannot promise a result. How much English you learn depends on your attendance, your practice and your effort. We do not guarantee that you will pass any specific exam, obtain any visa or immigration benefit, get a particular job, or reach a particular level by a particular date.

Nothing on our website, in our social media or in our advertising should be read as such a guarantee.

15. Changes to the Program

We may improve or update the Program, its materials, its schedule or its instructors. If we make a change that significantly affects what you bought, we will tell you.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by Florida law, our total responsibility to you for anything related to a Program is limited to the amount you actually paid us for that Program.

We are not responsible for indirect losses - for example lost income, lost opportunities, or problems caused by your internet connection, your device, or an outside platform.

Nothing in these Terms removes any right you have that cannot legally be removed.

17. Your personal information

We collect and use your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. We ask for your WhatsApp number, your country of residence and your goal for learning English so that we can place you in the right group and stay in touch with you about your classes.

We do not sell your personal information.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is important, we will tell you by email. If you keep using our Platform or attending classes after a change, that means you accept the new Terms.

19. Which law applies

These Terms, and the relationship between you and Speak Now LLC, are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Any dispute arising from these Terms will be brought before the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida.

20. Talk to us first

If something is not right, please write to info@speaknowusa.com or message us at +1 561-524-5701 before anything else. Most problems are solved with a conversation.
